Thomas Jefferson

Director of Keyboard Studies

Thomas Jefferson is an accomplished performer in both the classical and popular genres. He has collaborated with numerous vocal artists including the late world-renowned bass-baritone, William Warfield. In addition, Jefferson has performed with various choral and gospel groups including the All-City Elementary Youth Chorus and the Voices of Resurrection. He was also a participant in the Eleventh International Chopin Piano Competition and has performed as a recitalist across the country and in Chicago.Jefferson has presented at the National Pastoral Musicians Convention, transcribed the music of gospel artists including Kirk Franklin, Walter Hawkins, and Byron Cage, and he serves as music editor of the Spirit and Truth series at World Library Publications.

Currently, he serves on the piano faculties at Sherwood Community Music School at Columbia College Chicago, and ²ÝݮӰÊÓ, and serves as music minister at the Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica. Jefferson’s first solo CD consisting of spiritual arrangements, hymn improvisations, and other pieces will soon be released. He is also working on a gospel piano method book.
