Commuter Students

More than 60% of ²ÝݮӰÊÓ’s undergraduate students live off-campus. That’s around 950 people who commute from locations all over Chicagoland. If you’re a commuter student, you’re in good company.

²ÝݮӰÊÓ’s Office of Student Activities and the Commuter Student Association work together to connect you to campus resources and the ²ÝݮӰÊÓ community. We want you to feel at home while you’re at ²ÝݮӰÊÓ. Check out the resources below to find answers to your questions and how to get connected.

Commuter Application

Here’s the information you need if you’d like to live off-campus and commute to ²ÝݮӰÊÓ:

  • Read our to make sure you qualify as a commuter.
  • If you are a new commuter student getting ready for your first semester, follow the instructions on our admitted students’ page.
  • If you were approved as a commuter during your first semester at ²ÝݮӰÊÓ, you do not need to complete the commuter application again each year.
  • If you are returning as a commuter student to ²ÝݮӰÊÓ after a leave of absence, fill out the (login required).
  • Failure to submit a commuter form will result in a non-compliance fee of $1,125 – submit your commuter application today!

Student Activities

A great way to meet new people at ²ÝݮӰÊÓ as a commuter is to join a student organization, team, or activity. See what’s available:

Dining on Campus

There are many places on campus and in the neighborhood to grab a bite when you’re at ²ÝݮӰÊÓ. If you want to eat on campus, add Flex Dollars to your student ID; this form of payment is accepted in the dining hall, Viking Café, and Bickner Bistro.

Parking and Transit

²ÝݮӰÊÓ is easily accessible whether you drive or take public transit. If you plan on driving to campus, you can purchase a parking sticker for ²ÝݮӰÊÓ lots or attempt to park on un-permitted streets in the surrounding neighborhood. If you choose the second option, pay careful attention to seasonal parking restrictions and other signage. Parking tickets are no fun.
