Resources for Possible Tax Benefits
Many ²ÝݮӰÊÓ students and their parents will qualify for education-related tax benefits. While ²ÝݮӰÊÓ does not provide personal tax advice, here are some resources from the IRS which may be beneficial:
The has been extended through December 2017. At this time, the maximum tax credit is $2,500 per student. To take advantage of this credit, complete tax Form 8863 and include with your 1040 tax filing. There are certain income limits and other stipulations, so please consult the IRS and/or your tax professional if you need assistance
Outside Scholarships
The Financial Aid Office is often notified of scholarship opportunities outside of ²ÝݮӰÊÓ aid.
You can find a list of those scholarships below as well as some helpful resources when searching for scholarships. We do not recommend applying for any scholarships that require a fee.

Scholarship funds are due to ²ÝݮӰÊÓ for the fall semester by October 1 and by March 1 for the spring semester.

: Scholarship of $1,000 offered monthly to students who write an essay in response to a prompt from their website. Deadline: 15th of each month
Giva awards $1000 scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students who write an essay in response to a prompt from their website. Deadline: June 1
:The NIH UGSP will pay up to $20,000 per academic year in tuition, educational expenses, and reasonable living expenses to scholarship recipients. Deadline: April 3
- Must be currently enrolled in high school or college
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (or the equivalent)
- Must be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada

- Provide supporting documentation (letter of recommendation, news article/photo featuring their project, etc.)
