Choose from Two Concentrations

Why Study Health Sciences?

Many individuals help people receive quality health care鈥攊ncluding non-clinicians working in hospital administration, community health promotion, and other areas in the public and private sectors. These positions require excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as strong backgrounds in life and health sciences. The Health Sciences major will prepare you for non-clinical positions in healthcare related to administration, management, and/or health promotion, as well as for continued graduate and professional studies.

Health Sciences (BS) Concentrations

One Major, Two Tracks

The health sciences major offers two concentrations: health systems management and health and wellness. You can concentrate in either or both tracks. And you do not have to decide right away鈥攁ll health sciences majors take the same six core classes, so you can learn more about what each track entails before committing.

Learn about the organizational structure and science supporting healthcare through a range of courses, including epidemiology and health care policy and politics.

Internship Opportunities

Alumni Careers and Graduate Schools

Health Sciences graduates find careers in a variety of settings, both inside and outside of hospitals and clinics. Our alumni include care coordinators, research analysts and assistants, financial counselors, claims adjudicators, human resources assistants, health promotion specialists, and outreach coordinators. They have pursued graduate work in public health, physical therapy, nursing, business, and as physician assistants.
